Salina Fu (she/her) is a Chinese American ceramic artist based in New York City.
Fú 福 means blessing and good fortune. Beyond naming her work after this meaningful character, it is also a tribute to Salina’s family. While the characters are different, the pinyin is spelled the same as her family name.
The Lo Lo Tong 路路通 is named by Salina's mother. It means to be without barriers on any path you take. This has remained a core piece in every collection.
Fu Ceramics acknowledges the land it's based on to be the homeland of the Lenape (Lenapehoking) who were violently displaced as a result of European settler colonialism.
